In his 3 decades as an artist and inker, Stir Fry Willie consistently gave us illustrations that froze time for a moment or two and allowed us to see the beauty in the simple events of our every day lives. Stir Fry called himself a tracer. What he chose to trace was the grandeur of the commonplace, and he saw this grandeur all around him. He taught us to see it, too.
Stir Fry Willie chronicled America from 1980 to Present, selling his first paintings to his own brother when he was 21. He enjoyed painting, was driven to paint, and spent virtually every day throughout his career in the studio.
His subjects covered all facets of American culture, from a Chupacabra dinner to the first alien sex scene. These comics bring you a generous sampling of the works of America's most beloved and most recognized artist and illustrator, in whose works we can all recognize a little bit of ourselves. |
